SHIFTRONIC is a unique transmission system which is available on the Hyundai Elantra. This transmission system allows the driver to override the automatic transmission and manually shift gears to gain more control over the car's performance. Once a driver is in the SHIFTRONIC mode, he can up shift and down shift as he would with a standard transmission, but the onboard computer will prevent the engine from over-revving or stalling out.
